Une matinée à Apt
Chapitre 01
Le réveil 6:42 — 7:30 a.m.
Pages 4 — 9

A morning in Apt begins quietly — the shutters opened from the inside, the room half-blue, the linen still cool. We photographed twenty-two of them, between May and the end of June, in a small farmhouse south of the town.

Margaux shot on a 1986 Pentax, all available light. We didn't style anything, exactly; we set out the pieces — Bibi, Colette, the new Lucienne — and waited for the morning to do the rest of the work.

"On ne s'habille pas. On se rappelle."
— M. Duras, paraphrased
"A morning kept for ourselves — slow, soft, a little undone."

Chapitre 02 · Le café
Half-dressed,
fully present.
The kitchen at seven. The kettle, the radio low, the cat on the windowsill. The chemise stays on; the espresso is small and bitter; the day will be long but it has not started yet.
Le café
We make small, soft, well-made pieces — drawn from an imagined morning in Apt.
